Why Can a Clear Bag Still Be Rejected at a Stadium?

A clear bag is not a universal stadium pass. One venue can ban clear backpacks, another can allow them only when every pocket stays visible, and a third can reject a specific belt-bag style. Before you leave, check four things in this order: the bag shape, the pockets, the outside dimensions and the exact event policy. Wrigley Field prohibits backpacks, including clear backpacks. Other permitted bag types must be smaller than sixteen by sixteen by eight inches, and the Cubs say they do not offer large-bag storage. Citi Field is different. It can allow a fully clear backpack-style bag with no obscured inner pockets when it stays within sixteen by sixteen by eight. The material, pocket design and venue all matter. At the US Open, one bag per guest can be no larger than twelve by twelve by sixteen inches, but ordinary backpacks are separately prohibited. A single-compartment drawstring bag is treated differently. That is the trap: measuring the bag is necessary, but it does not answer whether the bag type is allowed. Small bags create their own problems. For Vikings games, U.S. Bank Stadium allows approved clear bags and small clutches but specifically lists Lululemon belt bags as prohibited. A familiar belt bag is not automatically the same thing as the permitted four-and-a-half by six-and-a-half-inch clutch. Use the name and measurements in the current policy, not the retailer's product category. A wrong bag does not have the same ending everywhere. AT&T Stadium lists fee-based storage for noncompliant bags. Mercedes-Benz Stadium lists paid bag checks outside Gates 1 and 2 for most major events, and its written policy requires diaper bags to be clear. Other venues provide no storage.
