Need to Know
- Best for
- Gates Sports Center is Purdue Fort Wayne’s on-campus basketball and volleyball arena. Athletics currently lists 1,800 seats, replacing this guide’s older 2,300 figure, and describes the court installed in 2024. Memorial Coliseum is a separate basketball venue: compare the location printed on your ticket with the actual Gates chart.
- Watch out for
- Purdue Fort Wayne’s fan code allows bag searches and prohibits glass, cans, coolers and noisemakers. Outside food and drink are prohibited where concessions are available. The page does not establish a bag-size allowance, medical exceptions or re-entry; confirm those details and the actual game’s opening time with 260-481-5769 before packing.
- Good arrival window

Parking At A Glance
- What to do
- Arrange accessible parking, drop-off, the step-free arena entrance and companion seating before arrival. Team-bus parking in an indoor-track meet packet is not public basketball parking guidance; Memorial Coliseum parking is also separate.
- Best option
- Purdue Fort Wayne’s general rules say B lots and upper garage levels do not require a permit. First garage levels are designated A until 5 p.m. and AB afterward. Follow current signs and confirm the designated Gates spectator lot and any event exceptions with 260-481-5769.
- Avoid
- Do not assume every campus space is free or unrestricted: A areas, accessible spaces, meters and housing areas have separate rules. The parking page now directs metered payment through ParkMobile despite older coin wording farther down the page.
